Online Applications [03 Jun 2003|10:16pm]
I'm a little tired of reading about online applications, and outsourcing. It seams to me that unless a process requires majorly expensive equipment, of which you won't fully use, then it should be cheaper to operate in-house. Web hosting, e-mail, and most all such services can be run in-house on Windows or Linux. Surely outsourcing companies aren't providing their services because it's better that way. They are doing it because it's profitable for them. That's means that it's costing you money.

Yesterday was interesting, We went to my mother-in-law's church. They've got several women there who speak in tunges plus the preacher. Made me look up some information on the subject. 1 Corinthians 14 deals allot with speaking in tunges.

No more than 3 people in any given service can speak in tongues
They have to take turns and speak one at a time so that they can be interpreted.
If there is not an interpreter then they should talk to god silently.

They broke all these rules yesterday, which tells me that they're ither faking it, or their possessed by demons at some level. I lean toward the latter.

I took Trinity to my mothers company picnic a the McWayne center today. We had a great time. They had a petting zoo with ducks, goats, pigs, baby chickens, and horses. I got several pictures of trinity hugging a goat and playing with one of the chicks. She enjoyed the aquarium and the kid play area they had. She sat well through most of an IMAX movie but fell asleep toward the end. It was a great day. Pictures will be uploaded to the picture section of www.pctender.net soon.

[ mood | happy ]

Just got my website rebuilt after several revisions. I like this one alot better than past formats. It's simpler and a whole lot faster to workon. I'm basicly using microsoft word to build the whole thing. Works great. I had a great interview with cingular thursday and am waiting to hear from them. I should hear from them today. If I don't I'll continue the job search tommarow. Not a whole lot to say right now. Just updating for the sake of updating. Have a great day,
Kevin

Just went to liveadivce.com and they deleted my advice topics. Don't know why. Had to go in and create another one and now I have to go back and edit my website to my new extention. It's very tedious. Trying to keyword my website. Suposed to redo a website for a friend of mine but can't pull up his page. comes up in his office, but not from my home or work. Think it's not resolving dns. Need to contact his isp soon. will survive. Looking positively on finding a job in Tuscaloosa. Pray for me.

I'm at work, Everyone else is gone and I'm bored. I've signed up for liveadvice.com. Phone hasn't rang yet but I'm hoping it'll be an adition to our income. I've listed my number on my website and limited the calls to between 9 and 10 in the morning. People can e-mail me at any time. Still looking for a job in tuscaloosa. Have a few more job leads. Just need to followup. Tamara is due any day now. The contractions are getting pretty bad. Checkups every week. Baby just needs to drop. Prospects for the future are up.

I stayed home today to give Tamara a break from Trinity and to help clean. I ended up workig this morning at Leland. Left there as soon as I could. Trinity's been upset today. It took a while to get her to settle down and go to bed. It's been a good day. Tamara let me sleep for a long time. Tomarow I have to make a service call in tuscaloosa, after that I'm not sure what our plans are. It's been a good day off. Much needed.

Just got back from Wal-Mart. Got a bathtub cover for Trinity. It's a rubber duck.Tamara's done alot of work to get the house clean. Eaverything looks wonderful except for our room. We'll probably wait till I take off this week to clean that.Savana's getting on our nerves. If she ever sits still we'll go into shock. She'll be gone today. Got a note from fec-ex when we got home from Wal-Mart. It's just our luck, The one morning we're gone, my package comes. I don't know if it's my Diablo game or if it's a part I need to fix one of the computers at Hasco in Tuscaloosa. I kinda hope it's my game.

Just thumbing through this months CPU mag and am tataly astonished on page 14. This strange contraption looks like thos mechanical droids from Star Wars episode one. The ones that rolled into a ball and had six laser riffles. It's actualy a cmputer desk. Prass looking rods bring all your pc components into an easy reach. Dual flatscreens are held up in the perfect position from your reclined fully customisable chair. It's the perfect machine for 9 hours of hacking. Delux models start at $9,000 and up, Footrest included.

Just updated the web site. Added the services page and trying to troubleshoot an issue with microsoft word and it displaying my resume. Nothing's ever easy the first time. Tamara's cousin is sleeping over with us tonight because her aunt watched trinity for our date saturday night. The woman with the 1:00 birthday party at Leland today was a total witch. When something would go wrong. (like one of the kids not throwing the ball hard enough and it getting stuck on the lane.) she sould call the problem in on the wrong lane. I'm in the back working on the machines so I run over to the lane and there's no problem. Only takes us about 5 minutes to figure out she can't count and get the problem fixed. Then she wants to add time to her party because I wasted her time. I wish business was plentiful enough to throw some people out. One last note. If a child is too small to lift a 6lb bowling ball, Don't expect them to throw one 70 feet zigzagging down a boling lane hard enough to knock down pins that weigh 2 lbs apice and have a base diameter of almost 7 inches. Aint gonna happen. You're gonna have problems. Don't gripe, It's your fault. Inteligence is a requirement for human interaction. I hate old wimmen who have been able to live their life without havein to wory about anything, and expect the rest of the world to act like the inside of their home.

Tamara and I had a great Valentines day. We went to Red Lobster and then went bowling. I got a kiddie ball for her to throw so she would not hurt herself (9 months pregnant). Then we hung out in the bar for several hours and talked to my manager. It was a good night. I had a wallaby-dang, It's like a fuzzy navel with crushed ice. It was so good. Feel alot better after a good night out. I finally broke 100. My new top bowling score is 111. I'm proud in my suckiness. Had alot of fun. Hope everybody's day went just as good.

Today was a long day. My login-logout record at work is a mess. Didn't login on time once today except for comming back for lunch, but that's because I didn't eat. Been tired all day. Kinda hard to find the energy to move. Mental capacities are normal. Just can't muster up energy to get up. Worked up some selling points for computer work. Will update the website soon. Looking for ways to drum up business in Tuscaloosa, and Birmingham. With my skills I know I could be a great help to alot of people. Just need a chance to prove myself. Oh well. The lord will provide a way. Just wish I could quit working seven days a week. I've called in sick twice since christmas. Those have been my only days off. Taking off next thursday and friday to help Tamara clean the house to get ready for the new baby. Sorry for rambling. Kinda tired and ready to go to beak
Good Night

Well, It's kind of late. It's 2am and I just finished up the last touches to the latest revision of my resume. Completed 6 application to the Alabama Personnel Department. Printed 2 sets of mailing labels. Touched up my Business Cards. Printed 24 job opening notification requests for the Alabama State Personnel Department. Added one of TeleTech supervisors to my References list. E-mail mike about the brakes on my car. Tomorrow I have to take my jacket to the cleaners. Go get a haircut. Call DCH about job openings in their IT department. I'm not that tired but my mind tells me it might be a good idea to drink a glass of milk and go to bed. Got an early start in the morning.
thanks,
Bye

Well, The job search is going well. Joe gave my resume to some people who might be calling, and I've got the name and number of the woman I'm supposed to get in touch with at DCH. I've also managed to assemble about a dozen other companies in Tuscaloosa that I think will have their own IT department. The Better Business Beaurou website has been very useful in finding phone numbers for companies. My challenge has been coming up with companies that have their own IT department. If I could just find a list of all the companies in Tuscaloosa, I could start to narrow them down. Tamara used a gift card we got for Christmas to buy an answering machine. I figured we needed one since I'm putting our home phone number on all the applications. Mike and craig are doing some great stuff over at xxxchurch.com. I'm glad they have the strength to live in that environment. They need allot of prayer.

Gatlinberg Trip [01 Jan 2003|03:26pm]
I just got back from the Extreme Winter conference in Gatlinburg,TN. The conference was awesome. It's the first time I've ever seen Josh McDowell speak. I will never forget what he said. He explains gods purpose in our live so clearly and intelligently that there's no denying that Jesus was the Son of God, That the came to earth in the form of a man, and died for our sins. That though his love for us we can obtain forgiveness for our sin. I never realized that Jesus and the people in the new testament had, and quoted from the old testament. The greek version of the old testament has been historically proven to exist 250 years before the birth of christ. The old testiment also has the predictions to the birth and life of christ. Almost every aspect of Jesus's life was predicted in the Old Testament. Down to the date of his triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Predictions of wars and falling of nations. It's like my preacher always says "Your faith is only as strong as your knowledge of the word of god."

His presentation sunday was on sex. It's scary how much the media has lied to us about sex. HPV is now affecting more people than aids and the media hasn't given it 1% as much attention as it has aids. HPV is 10 times easier to catch than aids and 40% of teenagers who have has only 1 sex partner are estimated to be infected. HPV is the virus that causes 99.7% of all vaginal and penile cancer. CANCER IS CAUSED BY SEX. Condoms are useless because the virus spreads through the moisture around the sexual organs. More information can be found here (http://www.cdc.gov/nchstp/dstd/Stats_Trends/Trends2000.pdf) page 18.

I just purchased a Live Journal account because I think this will let me run the journal part I want to keep on my website, but will do it much faster than coding the pages myself. This will hopefully give me more time with my family. I'm also switching to page wizards in geocities(www.geocities.com/skillthief). The complicated mesh of pages on my site is just not worth the time. I'm simplifying everything and getting rid of a lot of stuff. Maybe everything will be more manageable now.
